Our Story

A small gesture, a long history.

We make the tools that begin a ritual - then we get out of the way of the bread.

How it started

It began with a jar passed across a kitchen.

A grandmother's starter, kept alive for years, handed to the next set of hands with nothing but a nod. No recipe card, no instructions — just the quiet expectation that you'd keep it going.

Lillinello grew out of that gesture. We wanted to box up the whole feeling — the living culture, the honest tools, the unhurried patience — so that anyone could give the beginning of a ritual, not just a thing.

What we believe in

Good things are made slowly,by hand, to be kept.

Finished by hand

Lovingly, packaged and finished by hand in small batches - never mass-produced.

Honest materials

Rattan, cotton, bamboo, teak and glass - nothing synthetic, nothing unkind.

Made for giving

Every kit is boxed to be handed over - the gift is the beginning.

About Lillinello

The Maker

From the weave to the stamp.

Our bannetons are coiled from Grade-A Indonesian rattan and left to keep their natural grain. The whisks are turned from teak, the scrapers cut from bamboo, the blades set by hand.

Each piece is stamped Lilli Nello before it's nestled into the Sicilian-tile box — the same bold-and-amber tilework you'd find underfoot in a Florentine kitchen.

“We never set out to sell baskets. We set out to pass something on - the patience, the smell of flour, the loaf you didn't think you could make.”
